The Auburn church of the Nazarene sent a team to conduct basketball "camps" in Bucharest and Mangalia, a town on the Black Sea.  The team spent one week in each location. In Bucharest, the team conducted its activities at the National Stadium, running two, three-hour sessions daily.  Those participating ranged in age from 6 to 30.

During its second week, the team traveled to Mangalia, a beautiful  town on the Black Sea, and found a great blessing in spending time each day with children at the local hospital.  Most of these children are diagnosed with tuberculosis affecting their bones, and a time of recreation away from the hospital was an important break for them. Each day in Mangalia the team also scrimmaged with a local high school team.  Although the Americans fared well on the scoreboard, the young Romanian legs wore the team out, requiring the four older members to reserve daily recovery periods (naps).
