The morning brought a change for Bucharest-Clouds! Our morning session was cool and comfortable, although the threatening skies kept the numbers low.
An interesting thing happened when a sixty year-old man who was working out in wrestling attire came over to play some basketball.  He was in excellent physical condition with a "washboard" stomach.  After playing quite a few games he shared with us from his athletic records, showing us a number of certificates and documents attesting to his athletic accomplishments.  Cory gave him the nickname "Papa Singlet" because of his clothing.  He also invited us to his home, which we will re-spectfully decline due to time commitments.  We will invite him to our party here at the District Center on Saturday.

Any better proof that the weather is cooler.  Flannel in Bucharest in July!
For the first time during our visit we could truly say that we had comfortable, if not cool, weather.  The temperature never rose higher than the mid-70s, so we felt more at home. There was another torrential rain storm, this one in the afternoon. Fortunately, the team was able to take shelter in a building entrance near Piata Unirii.  Due to the uncertainty of the weather our evening session had less of the older regulars than usual.  We actually had more kids than we did in the morning, but the lower overall numbers allowed us more time with the the younger ones.

Kids having fun.

One our returning favorites from last year, Danny.

The team with another friend from last year, Bogdan.  He is a great guy and an outstanding ball player.  We always recruit him for our team.
