We arrived at our final destination at 1 AM and had a little trouble passing through customs with the 2 boxes of VBS supplies and other odds and ends.  The missionary Rob Kazee and Tim were awaiting our release from customs and we were on our way to the district center. Thursday was a complete day of rest after not sleeping since Monday. A revised schedule was made on the time remaining which left some travel plans set aside.

We set out for Sinaia in the morning by train. Getting to the train we traveled the subway to the train station. The train trip was approximately one and a half hour. This town is nestled in the mountain range towards the Alps with several 15th century castles. We spent the night at a 2 star hotel which had better accommodations than we expected. While walking to the castle Kathy saw something from a vendor she couldn't pass up. Yes she bought it. It was a long day trying to take everything in.

Having a restful night sleep in the hotel we head for the cable car to take us to the top of a mountain overlooking the city. It was Kathy's first time in a cable car and she does not like heights but all went well even the return. Then it was shop till we left back to Bucharest at 5:30 pm. We returned back to the center at 9 pm for all to hit the mattresses after the tough journey.

Looking forward to hearing Pastor Daniels message at 10:30 service. Our interpreter Deann translated the message very well which was about "Blessed are the Merciful". We also had communion. After the service a tour of the Cotricin Palace with Pastor Daniel, Kelly who was doing NIVS. Five minutes into the trip our van QUIT in the middle of the street in the middle of Bucharest in 90+ degrees. It is still there as far as we know. This is the van that we were to travel in to Gaisin for children's VBS. The bus drivers allowed us to board the bus without passes and dropped us off in front of the palace where there is no bus stop. Can't imagine what the Romanians in the bus were thinking. After touring the palace with Sylvia (Tim's interpreter) Pastor Daniel, Henry, Bev, and Kathy got their first wild experience in a Romanian Taxi at a cost of 42,000 Lei. Henry can´t seem to make since out of this monetary system, and he paid 150,000 Lei for one pastry éclair when the price was 15,000.  Watch out for those Zeroes!

Today VBS was given in the district center with no plans for going to Gaisin due to the van. The men were given a list of small repairs to accomplish at the center for the week. We won't be in the way of GiGi who is the maintenance man on holiday vacation.  Here is Leann's account of how the VBS activity went:  We were hugged and kissed when the children came into the church for VBS.  Mostly all gypsy children.  Game Time:  As I stood at the window facing the door, I watched the children's faces as they came into the "bare" room. There was absolutely nothing in the room, but you would think it was Christmas morning looking at a tree filled with presents all around it. Their eyes and faces lit up with joy that they had a room to play in. There were 30 children in attendance.  We have been blessed this whole trip for our safety in so many ways its hard to explain when you have to be flexible.
