"Our last day of VBS in Bucharest was filled with learning God has a plan for every life. We laughed , hugged, kissed and cried as we said goodbye to our children. I have had my eye one girl all week long she possibly 13 or 14 and very beautiful but she did not smile. She always stayed quietly in the corner each day as I watched her I would see a glimpse of a smile from her. On Wednesday she came up to me and showed me her friendship book we made at craft time.

She wanted me to sign her book she then told me her name was Esposa and gave me a small smile. There was a game i would play with the kids where I would play music and they could move about the room however they chose to. When the music stopped they had to freeze. Esposa was very slow and graceful and so different from the other children. Something about her touched my heart so I had her stay behind as the other children left today. I had Cristina translate for me. I told Esposa when i first saw her on Monday she didn't smile, it made my heart sad. Then when she gave a small smile on Wednesday my heart was happy.

I told her she was special to me and to Jesus, that Jesus loves her very much and will always be with her. I took my pin off my shirt and explained to her the American side of the pin was me and the Romanian side of the pin was her. We would always be friends and that I loved her and would keep her in my prayers. Then I pinned the pin on her shirt. Cristina, Esposa, and I all had tears in our eyes. There is so much to share but everybody is whining that I'm writing too much."

Today was another awesome day for the Lord.  Our last day of VBS in Bucharest brought 39 children with the biggest smiles and at the end were hugs and tears of love.  In Gaiseni we arrived to meet 122 cheering children and a few adults at the church. It was overwhelming as we drove up to the church and honking the horn to announce our arrival, the children would come from everywhere. As we departed Gaiseni the children told how much they loved Jesus and the team and couldn't wait till we return for the Sunday service which Rob Kazee will give the message.

"Oh what a blessing to work with these wonderful children. To be able to present the Lord to them; to see their beautiful smiles , and to answer their questions.  Yesterday we had a lesson on heaven. One boy asked us how God would find him? What a pleasure we had as LeAnn told him that god knew exactly where he was all the time.

We had our final day at both Bucharest and Giaseni. We ministered to 39 children who are mostly street kids in Bucharest and 122 children in Giaseni. We came prepared with 109 goodie bags and praise the Lord, it stretched so every person received something and not one thing was left over! The feeding of the five thousand came alive today! Don't tell me that God doesn't work miracles! We saw miracles happen each day we were here in Romania! Praise God!"

"The last day of VBS ... time to review the lessons of the week.  Children decorated their "gold" crowns ... like the ones they will receive when they go to heaven! We took lots of pictures. Yesterday I told you about the little boy who drew a picture of his "Casa" in heaven. Today, he again touched my heart. As the younger children (ages 3-8) finished decorating their crowns, a mother arrived with her son. Much discussion took place between the mother and Cristina, our interpreter.

The mother was very upset that her son did not have a crown.  My special little friend carefully listened to the exchange. Then he slowly stood, carefully removed the crown from his own head, walked over to the new boy and gently placed the crown on his head.  Sharing the love of Jesus by his unselfish action. As the children lined up to leave the church, I asked my little friend to step aside.  Cristina interpreted for me as I explained to him what a nice thing he had done by sharing his crown with a friend.  Then I unpinned my Romania/America lapel pin from my shirt and pinned it onto his green shirt.  He gave me a big grin...knowing he did something that pleased Jesus.  Pray for the children."
