Sent: Monday, July 23, 2001 9:57 AM Today marked the third day of the hospital ministry with activity centered around therapy for stroke victims and the on-going outreach of washing and applying lotion. This was also the first day that we were able to provide adult diapers to the patients. In the afternoon Jann, April and Joy visited a hospital that focuses on babies with AIDS and another pediatric hospital with abandoned babies. Also beginning today was the sports outreach at the National Stadium. There were two sessions, from 9-11 AM, and the other from 5:30-7:30 PM. As usual, many familiar faces were on hand to renew friendships.
Our focus for today will be on the children's Vacation Bible School. It was schedule for 10:00 AM, but eager children were arriving by 9:15 AM. About 25 children attended today, learning the theme "Be Faithful". VBS opened with songs in Romanian and then some in English. After the singing there was a story, memory verse and craft time. Kathy was a big hit balloon animals for each of the children as they left. We expect more children for tomorrow as the Good News of God's love continues to spread in this precious country.
