Hello Home Team! Today was another full day in Sighisoara. So far, we have not had any time to simply walk around the old town of Sigi, explore the citadel or even purchase a few trinkets or souvenirs for our loved ones at home. This morning we took time to let the team wander up the hill into the citadel or head into downtown Sigi exploring. Some ate out and experienced Romanian cuisine. The younger team members treated Andrew to lunch for his 25th birthday! This is a trip full of birthday celebrations! Yesterday we celebrated Abe’s birthday with some wonderful homemade pies by our favorite piemaker: Magda Cheney! What a wonderful woman of God! On our trip home, we will have to figure out how to celebrate Doug’s birthday…maybe in Amsterdam. After lunch, our interpreters joined us for the trip out to Tg Mandru. Levy and Marios have definitely been a HUGE blessing along with our beloved Rosse. In Tg Mandru, we set up the medical clinic in the upper room of the community center. By now we really have a system! Once again we see officially 150ish patients, but there are always about 10-15 more a day that just slide in with another family member. Shane, Abe, Amy and Andrew once again drew the children out with balloons, games, singing and a storytime. We closed the clinic down in time to set up for the Saturday evening service with lovely believers of Tg Mandru. After a wonderful time of singing and praising God together in both Romanian and English, Roberta turned the service over to our team. Norman introduced the team. He had Val give her testimony and greet the people. She shared about how this trip is a God-dream she has been waiting for over 20 years to see come true. She also shared about her family and greeted the people on behalf of the King family. Norman then picked Abe to share next. He too told about his family and shared of how blessed he has been by the people of Romania. Next, Chris came up to sing. Oh what a beautiful voice! We have decided she is the sound of heaven!! After Chris’ lovely singing, Shane came to bring the Word of God. He spoke out of Luke chapter 4 when Christ declared Isaiah 61 being fulfilled in Him. The Spirit of God has anointed Christ to preach Good News, bring freedom to the captive, sight for the blind, healing for the brokenhearted and and to proclaim the Year of the Lord’s favor on the people. Shane preached both confidently and passionately through an interpreter giving time at the end to pray with people for salvation, for freedom from addictions and worries, as well as for health and healing in our hearts, minds and bodies. Sheila, it was a wonderful word and a wonderful prayer time. After church, we visited the church being built in Tg Mandru. It is a beautiful brick building standing three stories tall! It will have a sanctuary, kitchen, bathrooms and storage on the first floor. Classrooms for Sunday School as well as for Kindergarten and Bible studies will be on the second floor. It is hoped that the third floor will be made into an apartment to house a pastor…a Romanian pastor! Outside the church building are three wonderful greenhouses and vegetable gardens that are producing every conceivable vegetable! Magda Cheney is meeting with some of the women and children of the village to pray twice a day for 1-2 hours at a time! The blessing of God on the produce is evident!! We also saw the well house that was built to cover the new well dug for Tg Mandru. The better water is making a difference in the health of the people living in Tg Mandru. More updates will follow…so check back soon! Pictures will also follow as we get them downloaded and sorted. May the grace of Our Lord be with you!
