To our loving Home Team who is continually lifting us up in prayer. Remember, today is promised to a glorious day! We are on the road again! We piled into the car and van again after beginning our day in the Word and prayer. This time we are off the town of Bazna about one hour away from Sighi. Before we tell about our day in Bazna, we need to tell about the driving experiences in Romania. It is definitely not for the faint of heart! Lanes are optional, passing lanes are non-existent, and not a single driver would be able to pass a drivers test in Washington! Even Gigi from Bucharest says, “Drivers here are crazy!” For example after a brief excursion into Chendu (Cando) we found ourselves behind a very large and VERY slow truck. We now have a new understanding of tailgating. With no room between our van and the truck, car after car would pass us, sometimes two at a time, and simply nose into the non-space between the truck and the van…even on curves! But somehow, miracle upon miracle, each car made it “safely “ around us and the truck without any accidents. Ask any team member about the driving experience to get a better description of our experience! Oh, and there is no such thing as a 25 mph speed limit in residential areas…speed is at the discretion of the driver! Today is our planned day of rest after a long and grueling week of building projects, kid’s programs and medical clinic. For our day off, Norman and Linda arranged for us to visit a local spa in Bazna. Upon arrival, we had to decide if we only wanted to soak in the natural salt and iodine hot spring pool or if we wanted to treat ourselves to massages or mud wraps. Most of the team chose to just soak in the pool, but a few of the team experienced massages for aching and tight muscles. Our three younger team members braved a Romanian mud wrap/bath. It can only be described as relaxing and refreshing with the “wonderful fragrance” of Romanian mud. After about 4-5 hours of relaxing in the pool and through the services, we enjoyed a wonderful meal together in Bazna’s restaurant. What a truly glorious day! The time in the pool was especially relaxing and healing for Linda’s badly bruised leg. What a difference it made! We piled back into the vehicles to head for Sighi and yet another adventure in driving in Romania. After working so hard together, it was wonderful to relax together and enjoy one another’s company. Doc Steve, Shane & Abe raced to the Family Center in Sighi to run a basketball clinic for the young teens. They are preparing them for a small tournament tomorrow night. We are refreshed and ready for tomorrow, our final day of clinic. What a blessing to again know and experience the love and caring of God. We continue to be extra blessed by the love and prayers of our families and friends at home. We pray for you each day as we start out our days in prayer.
We love you, Home Team! |
