To our beloved Home Team, It is early dark-thirty, but we roused ourselves, ate some breakfast, piled all our bags into the back of ‘Ruby, the van’ and head to the train station. Norman and David head into the station to see if there is room on this mornings train. PTL! There was room, but now we were each responsible three tickets to board the train, praying that all or at least some of them would get us to Bucharest. Brad, you know what we are talking about! We crossed over the tracks to our boarding area, gave our final hugs and kisses to Norman, Linda, Andrew and David. As the lights of our train came into view, we set up our strategy plan of getting all the women finding our cabins and seats on board while Norman, David and Andrew threw the luggage up on to the men. We passed bags on down the narrow hallway until we were all on board with all our stuff! We waved goodbye again and collapsed back in our seats exhausted but on our way to Bucharest. Once in Bucharest, we were met by Pastor Daniel and Gigi at the train station. Gathered all of our belongings and bags and headed to the Nazarene Church in Bucharest. Another Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride! Since we were all tired, we decided to get something to eat and take a nap. We ate lunch at Ruby Tuesday’s, grabbed a few snacks at the store (still no Mountain Dew or Starbucks!), and headed to bed. After resting a few hours, some of the team took a driving tour around the People’s Palace and surrounding areas since many of our “newby’s” had never seen these sights. Four of our team members decided to shop and walk back to the church. In the evening, we had another wonderful time of praise and prayer, as well as pizza and fellowship with the Believer’s here in Bucharest. Pastor Daniel sends his greetings to all his friends in Washington State. Good nights, we are off to bed as we have be up again at 2:30 am to get to the airport! Travel is “the pits” as Rod says, but necessary. We want to leave you with a few thoughts: - What a wonderful and awesome God we serve! He handled every crisis, obstacle, and circumstance. Nothing is too hard for our God! - We know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! - We love and miss our families. Through their sacrifices, love and prayers, they have made this trip possible. - Acts 1:8 ~ We are to go into Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth, which includes Romania. - Learn to be a servant giving people dignity and love. See you tomorrow!
